Shredder Distribution

February 19-20 and March 3, 2014

The distributions of 5 shredders for Negros producers were done in Lower Candabong, Ilijan, Kumaliskis, Ma. Cecilia, and Camboktot last February 19 - 20 and March 3, 2014.

Candabong, Bantolinao, Salvacion Farmers Association (CBSFA) received 1 unit shredder needed for fast production of raw materials for vermi composting. This unit was delivered and formally turned over to the organization on March 3, 2014.

Distribution of another unit was held in Ilijan last Feb.19. The shredder was given to Nakalang Padilla Farm Workers Association (NAPFWA) and was received by Sandrico Cornelio, chairman of NAPFWA. “The shredder is very helpful to us. It lessens our time in doing the composting manually, by makes our work faster and easier. We now have more time to spend with our family. I’m very thankful to the donors who supported us in these difficult times” Cornelio expressed.

The shredder will not only be used by NAPFWA but also will be shared to other farmer producers of Nakalang Perez Farm Workers Association (NAFWA), and Ilijan Integrated Farmers Association (ILIFA).

On that same day, Feb. 19, balangon growers of Kumaliskis, Don Salvador Benedicto also received 1 shredder. This shredder will be shared among by the balangon growers of Kumaliskis, Natawog, Pandanon, and Spur14.

Shredded banana trunk/leaves and water buffalo waste to be used for composting.

Amaro Warlito, Admin Staff/Driver and Mario Ortillo, Field Assistant demonstrated the proper use of the shredder.

Sugarcane producers of Ma. Cecilia Farm Workers Association (MACFAWA), received their shredder last Feb. 20. Mr. Bonifacio Mira Flores, MACFAWA Chairperson received the shredder in behalf of the organization.
